Scrapping on Chipboard

A new way to use packing supplies! I always get these wonderful pieces of light weight chipboard with my patterned paper supply orders. I've never thrown any of them away, because I knew one day they would be useful for something! I've let my son play with them, making his own creations. It usually involves some crayons and scrap pieces of paper or random Prima flowers... eeek, yes I let him play with a couple Prima flowers once in a while.

I've seen a lot of layouts created on corrigated cardboard and I love the look. I thought, why not take some of my chipboard from the product packaging and try to get a simular look. So ta-da!

This piece is sturdy enough to display as is on a photo stand. It is also light weight enough to fit in a traditonal 12x12 scrapbook. So you have the best of both worlds. Display it for everyone to see, then when you're done, put it away in the scrapbook.

Pick it up here in my etsy shop. www.paperprincess34.etsy.com

Great Finds on Etsy

Since moving to Missouri, this summer, I have had nothing but problems with my skin. Rashes, hives, break outs, oily skin, and dry skin (yes both at the same time too)... the list goes on. I've tried everything I can get my hands on at the drug store. But all they did was make the problem worse. Now, I trust my skin to etsy.

This is some fabulous Tea Tree Tangerine Facial soap I found at CozyMoments. As she says, it refreshes, stimulates, and deep cleanses. I was so excited to try out this bar. This bar was like nothing I've tried before. To start with, it doesnt bubble up. It has a smooth milky lather. Your skin actually feels squeaky clean once you step out of the shower. Once out of the shower you can feel the difference on your skin... no more oil blotting sheets for me!

While I was browsing around CozyMoments I happened up this Deep Cleansing Facial Clay mask. I must say it does draw out the oils, toxins and other impurities from your skin as she claims it does. I will also add that it does a pretty good job of exfoliating your skin as you remove it. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone with oily skin. I'm adding this to my weekly beauty ritual.
I love that you can feel these products working as soon as you apply them. No other cleanser has ever left me more happy!!!

You can find these products in her shop here, as well as a variety of lotions, soaps and other bath and body products, all of which smell like Heaven. http://www.cozymoments.etsy.com/

These are my honest personal experiences with these products.

UGH! Winter Weather

It started 4pm Monday afternoon. Freezing rain started falling from the sky and continued for the next day and a 1/2 before it switched over to snow. I thought for sure moving to Missouri would take care of everything I hate about winter... the snow. Well this is only my first winter here and already I'm wishing SNOW was the worst of it. As I'm learning, snow is rare here, and when it does, it's just a dusting. Instead, we get ICE!

So a day and a half of tiny tiny hail has left a nice little layer of ice on the ground. What's worse, we DID get snow. About 3 inches of it. Monday night, the school district canceled school for Tuesday, which is understandable (not that this would have ever happened in Maine, they'd wait for morning there before canceling). Tuesday evening, at which point it was still icing/snowing, the school for Wednesday. Wednesday morning comes around and it's lightly snowing. Work (the ARMY!!!) calls to tell my husband not to come to work today. Now he's been in the military for 9 years now and this is the FIRST work has been canceled due to weather, and we've lived in a few places, such as UPSTATE NY!!!! They never cancled work there... So that's ok. He has another day off (he had most of Tuesday off as well, though he did go in for a short time). But here's the thing. The majority of the day, snow and winter weather free. In fact the sun was shinning, and the birds were singing (ok I'm making that part up). But it was a beautiful day. I went outside to play with my son in the snow. Now he loves it.

Now tonight, just after supper the school, once again, cancels school for tomorrow... why? It's not doing anything, it's not supposed to do anything. We have 3 inches of snow on top of about an inch of crunchy ice... My point, you'd never see this in Maine.

So, as you can bet, I havent done too much scrapbooking and tomorrow isnt looking good either! However I was able to list a couple things on etsy and ebay today. Check out my newest layout on etsy.
I call it sweetie. A little different from my standard 12x12s, being this one is circular. Gives my already unique pages and extra touch of creative-ness... is that a word?

So, I'm hoping your weather is better than ours, and I'm wishing and praying for the return of school on Friday. Yep, you can say I'm ready for Spring.

Some New Items

You can find them on eBay!
My happy place. Well it makes me feel happy anyway. Another creation with the help of Sassafras Lass. We all know this is my favorite scrapbook company, and this line, called My Happy Place, is no exception. Kinda makes you want to go lay in the grass on a warm summer day and stare up at the clouds. You can check out this layout as well as close ups of the details here on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=130284412183

Another 6x6 mini album. As always, I have put this piece together with 8 pages to store your favorite pictures. Show it off, give it as a gift, or fill it with your cutest pictures and save it for yourself (that's what I would do...). Getting back to the 8x8's

It's time I started increasing the size of my 8x8 collection on etsy. It wasnt so long ago when I felt like I was up to my ears in them. But after several sales, give aways and deciding I just had to keep some for myself, I've decided to give them a go once again.

8x8s are my favorite size to create. Not too little space and not too much, just the perfect size. Having just one photo tell the story of the page. This leaves your mind to travel back to the memory. Nothing is sweeter than reminiscing and reliving the moment.

This layout is very similar to my "I Believe In Me" layout below. I've changed up a few elements, added some flowy doodles, and completed the piece with the rub ons.

This layout will be available on etsy tomorrow.

Some ME Time

I Believe in Me
8x8

Something to show for all my hard work. Too often I'm working on layouts to fill orders, or making them for etsy and ebay. That just doesnt leave me much time to work on my own books. So today, I made time (just as soon as I finished that layout for etsy, lol).

Normally when I make a layout, I have some idea in my head of how I want the finished product to turn out. Somewhere in the process it usually takes on a mind of its own. This layout is no exception. I was planning embellishing it with a prima flower and then doodling around it, as is my typical style. After hunting down the perfect colored prima and laying it out, I decided I could come up with something better... So I cut out some clouds from my "Happy Place" paper by Sassafras Lass (my favorite scrapbook company). I layer them, and added the Queen & Co. felt fusion flowers and finished it off with the cute girl rub on. I still had every intent of adding a couple wispy doodles at the top of the cloud, but the heart rub ons prevailed.

Oh and I was selfish too!!! Something I rarely do when it comes to my own books. I like to save my best supplies for what I'm selling. But not this time! Remember the little girl rub on I mentioned? Well, I only had one and I'd say she looks pretty at home on my page.

Who knows how long it will be before I get the chance to make another page for myself. I really should get into the habit, again, of making at least a page or 2 for myself a week. Either way though, I'm happy to just be creating something. I know someone, somewhere is enjoying it!

Oh on another note, my 8x8 layout count on etsy is getting kinda low. So I'll be adding a version of this layout to my shop, just as soon as I have a chance to create one.

Cards, Cards and even more Cards!!!

That's right! 22 and counting, currently available, in my etsy shop. Yet I cant stop making them. Once in a while I find it nice to get away from the layouts and albums, and indulge myself in a smaller project, where I can really focus on the embellishments.

Who doesnt love recieving cards, either in person or through the mail? It's a nice way to surprise your recipient and let them know you are thinking about them. Now, for me, that experience is even more thrilling when that card happens to be handmade!

So, now that stock of cards is taking up some space, and once again I'm having an urge to make more! So this month (through the end of January), these cards are on sale. That's right!!! Buy 3 and get 1 free (equal or lesser value). Plus, just for this weekend (Jan 24- Jan25) free shipping on them (applies to my card section only).

So hurry over to my shop and pick them up while you can!

Valentine Mini Album

Score this cute Valentine album on ebay! I'm inspired by almost everything I see. Luckily for me, there are tons of cute patterned papers available featuring robots (like this one), owls, deer, birds and the like.

My mini album was designed to have a Love theme, since Valentine's Day is coming right up. Even if your not a fan of the holiday you can still proudly display this piece with pictures of that special person (or pet even) in your life.

This mini has 8 pages with room for a picture and journaling on each. You can check out the rest of the album using the following link.

I FINALLY started a blog!!!

So I've been thinking about creating a blog for a couple months now. This afternoon I was looking around at another blog, and a post on how to create bath bomb cupcake fizzies. So I thought why not start one now! So here it is!

I'm looking forward to sharing my daily crafting creations. I am mostly into scrapbooking, you know making layouts, cards, well anything with paper really. But this year (for my new year's resolution, one of them) I'm trying to expand outside that craft. I'm really intrigued with home made bath products. I love all the hand made soaps, lotions, scrubs, and bath bombs that I've purchased on etsy. I know soap making isnt for me, or atleast not at this point, not that I've tried it yet... but I'm thinking of trying to make my own sugar scrubs, bath bombs and salts, and possibly lotions. We'll see how it goes though.
